Huawei MeeTime app gets 2.1.42.664 public beta with new features
Huawei MeeTime app is receiving a new public beta update with the 2.1.42.664 version. The latest testing build unlocks some new satellite features to enhance communication. It also contains tools to shield users’ privacy in a better way.
Apart from new capabilities, the update also fixes some known issues in the application. It improves the app’s performance, making it more reliable for users.
Inputs reveal that Huawei MeeTime public beta activity with 2.1.42.664 version is open till August 6. During this phase, some selected users will get the chance to explore the new features and provide honest feedback for improvements, if any.
Coming to the changelog, the Huawei MeeTime is receiving free input support for Beidou satellite SMS. Users can now send/receive or edit text (up to 16 characters by default including punctuation marks) to contacts when facing network issues.
Further changes include a ‘block feature’. The capability will automatically block unknown numbers or those who have no call records on your Huawei handset or ID.
Note that the MeeTime app public beta activity is currently open for only those Huawei phones that support the Beidou Satellite SMS feature. Pura 70 lineup supports free editing of satellite messages. Although the company may bring this new tool to more compatible handsets. These are:
Mate 50 series, Mate Xs 2 series, Pura 70 lineup, Pocket 2 series, Nova 12 Pro/Ultra, MatePad Pro 11 2024, Mate 60 series, Mate X5 models, P60 series, Mate X3 lineup, and Nova 11 Ultra. You can check the complete changelog below.
MeeTime 2.1.42.664 public beta
- Added a new ‘Do not answer calls from unknown numbers’ toggle to the settings. When enabled, the feature will automatically block calls from strangers or those who have no call records with the user’s current account.
- Audio and Video call interface now displays labels such as fraud, strangers, international, and more.
- Beidou satellite communication messages now support free input. When stuck in a no-signal area or with no Wi-Fi network connection, the Beidou satellite SMS will enable users to send messages or edit them accordingly.
- Each page on MeeTime will display the Beidou satellite SMS entry when there’s no SIM card signal and no Wi-Fi network connection.
- Fixes some known issues.
The Huawei MeeTime public beta update carries a package size of 75 Megabytes. Hence, ensure to have sufficient storage in your handset before enrolling in the latest app testing activity.
