New Update adds navigation gestures to quickly switch between recent apps on Huawei Mate 30 and 30 Pro

Huawei is recruiting new beta testers to test some new features for Huawei Mate 30 series devices in China. In the meantime, this flagship is receiving a new software update that installs a very new feature.

The update adds a navigation gesture to quickly switch between recent tasks and also fixes an issue where some apps would unexpectedly quit in certain situations (full changelog linked below).

Let talk about the software version – Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro comes with EMUI version 10.0.0.201 and the update weighs 594MB.

Follow the instructions below to check for update:

Via Settings:

1. Open Settings
2. Click on ‘System & updates’
3. Click on ‘Software update’
4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
5. Click on ‘Download and install’

Via HiCare:

1. Open HiCare app
2. Click on ‘Services’ tab
3. Click on ‘Update’
4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
5. Click on ‘Download and install’

Gesture Navigation:
Adds gesture support for switching between apps swipe across the bottom edge of the screen or in an arc across the bottom to switch between apps. To learn more about this gesture, go to Settings > System and updates > System navigation > Gestures > Settings > Switch between apps.

Apps:
Fixes an issue where some apps would unexpectedly quit in certain situations.
