Android 15 could sport an intensity slider for color correction modes
Google is packing some useful features in Android 15 and one of them could be a ‘color correction slider’. In case you are a color blindness sufferer, then this capability could play wonders for you on your Android smartphone. How? Let’s find out!
What is color correction mode?
The respective setting helps users to adjust the colors displayed on the screen as per their preference. It is quite a useful capability for color-blind users or those who face difficulty while differentiating between several colors on the screen.
Color correction already has certain modes like two red-green ones to resolve the particular shade issue. These modes help with defects such as deuteranomaly (issue with green), protanomaly (issue with red), and tritanomaly (issue with blue).
There is also a grayscale in the list to prevent monochromacy defects. It further provides a huge chart of top colors for preview. With this feature, some apps or parts of images become more clear for users with color blindness.
Google is now making this functionality more useful with its next OS. Android 15 is seemingly readying a new “color correction slider” tool. From the term, the slider will allow users to adjust the intensity of color correction mode on handsets.
Users can move the slider from “low, medium, and high” as well as check the color balance alteration. Moving the slider will show instant change that can make the display screen dramatically different from the past one.
Beta users can enable the feature manually, as it’s still absent from the latest Android testing build. To access this feature, visit Settings > Accessibility. Now tap on the Color and Motion section where you will find the color correction setting.
