Earlier this month, Huawei Consumer Business Software, Wang Chenglu confirmed that the EMUI 11 will launch in the third quarter of 2020. However, he didn’t mention any specifics regarding its feature or design layout.

But he did mention that this new upcoming EMUI version will be based on Distributed technology with improved app performance, as well as improved user experience.

According to our information, Huawei will introduce new Distributed technology apps in EMUI 11 for smart features and connectivity. Also, these features will be a part of Huawei’s All Scenario experience. Still, we don’t have exact inputs about its other features.

What is Distributed Technology:

Distributed technology allows users to conduct HD video calls among multiple devices. Users can make audio and video calls whenever and wherever they are. If there is an incoming call, users can choose to answer using a smart speaker.

Or if it is a video call, they can answer through a TV, vehicle-mounted device, or even send a real-time video feed from a drone so that friends and family can also enjoy the beautiful scenery.

At work, a smartphone and computer can share screens so that data can be exchanged easily through drag-and-drop.

The main purpose of distributed technology is to utilize the hardware capabilities such as display, camera, microphone, or speaker of each device. Then allowing users to use these capabilities across different devices providing seamless connectivity.

EMUI 11 on Android 11:

Since Huawei is investing heavily in the new Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) ecosystem, the EMUI 11 will be based on open-source Android 11 and not the HarmonyOS. On the other hand, the company seems to have already inherited some cross-device features from HarmonyOS architecture to the EMUI software system with EMUI 10.

Huawei will introduce EMUI 11 at Huawei Developer Conference 2020 (HDC 2020) in August or September. Moreover, the company likely to introduce a new version of HarmonyOS for more platforms.
