HarmonyOS 3.1 animations

A week ago, Huawei began testing HarmonyOS 3.1 operating in the Huawei P50 series and it’s now come to an understanding that HarmonyOS 3.1 comes with brand new changes in system animations.

According to a video shared by a HarmonyOS 3.1 developer beta tester, Huawei has improved the animations for different parts of the user interface including the notification center, and service widget combos.

However, there could be more to explore in the beta build with the upcoming testing phase. The clock is now moved to the top left side of the status bar, which animates and blends into the large clock of the animation bar, while the animation shows this entire transformation in real-time.

This new animation improves the interaction. However, it would be interesting to see if Huawei will fit this status bar clock into the left-hole punch and other types of notch designs.

Aside from this, the widget combo shape selection is also showing us a new animation tweak. The transition is realistic and it feels very interactive as compared to HarmonyOS 3.0.

These are just a few tweaks that appeared in front of us but Huawei could make some optimizations into the final outcome.

HarmonyOS 3.1 Developer Preview:

Huawei HarmonyOS 3.1 adds new ArkTS language and the latest beta developer beta resonates with the changes to be made in the upcoming releases alongside performance improvements.

HarmonyOS 3.1 developer preview also adds a development model including stage model life cycle management, scheduling, callback, context acquisition, authentication, and more. At the same time, the operation and management capabilities.

The ArkUI development framework enhances the declarative Canvas/XComponent component capabilities, enhances component layout capabilities and state management capabilities, and optimizes the usability of some components.

These are some developer-friendly terms but soon we may see more of user-friendly changes with new HarmonyOS 3.1 releases. Also, more devices could join the developer beta phase, of which, we’ll keep you posted.
