HarmonyOS Cross Device Task Center feature rolling out for Huawei P50 Pro
Huawei is rolling out a new set of features for its latest flagship – Huawei P50 Pro. These new additions include the HarmonyOS cross device Task Center feature. According to the changelog, the update comes with HarmonyOS 2.0 version 2.0.0.206 and a downloadable OTA update package size of 609MB.
Initially, Huawei announced cross device task center feature at the launch of HarmonyOS 2.0 on June 2, 2021. As its name says, the task center app allows you to see and manage the task manager history of the connected device.
However, this feature is powered by the distributed HarmonyOS capabilities. Therefore, it provides you more than expected and helps you to share the current app between two different devices without even installing the app on the second device. More interestingly, you will be able to control the app from the second device, which is absolutely awesome.
For instance, if you are running a game on your smartphone, you just need to go to the task manager of the phone and task manager view. Now, tap on the device (such as a tablet) to run the corresponding app. However, the user must first need to connect the tablet and the phone via the same WiFi network and Huawei ID.
Similarly, another task can also be handled by the task center such as viewing documents on a tablet for a bigger view, without even installing any additional app.
Other Changes in this update:
Looking at the details, the latest Huawei P50 Pro update also brings a new situation-based service combination and added automatic service widget customizations as well as new one-click access to similar services.
It also adds a new Celia Keyboard for a better typing experience and there are also new optimizations for the camera to improve the overall photography experience.
Expansion:
With this rollout, it’s expected that Huawei will further expand this feature on other HarmonyOS devices with an OTA update.
