Honor Magic 6 to use 3D ToF face recognition, just like Mate 60
Honor Magic 6 is hearsay to use 3D ToF face recognition technology, just like the Huawei Mate 60. This addition can easily identify faces or subjects from longer distances without any interruption.
Tipster @DigitalChatStation shared a post on Weibo saying that the Honor Magic 6 will use upgraded camera sensors and 3D ToF face recognition technology. Ahead, the optical frame will include a 1-inch OV50K, OV50H, and a 160MP periscope telephoto lens.
Perhaps, the Magic 6 lineup will offer an iconic photography experience to its users. Besides, it will accompany the latest advancements such as the variable aperture and satellite SMS features. At the same time, the series will step on the ground in Porsche Design.
What is 3D ToF Face Recognition?
3D ToF (Time-of-Flight) sensor is a dynamic camera system that is mainly used for measuring distances between the lens and the subject. It further adds depth to facial recognition so that a 3D face can be detected effectively among 2D objects in real time.
In terms of performance, the 3D ToF sensor uses a laser transmitter to emit light pulses. When the subject appears in front of the sensor, it reflects light and captures the flight time of the ray. Thus, users achieve fast response time, low power consumption, and better results under low-light scenarios.
