On September 10, Huawei unveiled new software and hardware technologies including HarmonyOS 2.0, EMUI 11, FreeBuds Pro, Watch GT 2 Pro, new MateBooks, and more. However, most of the Huawei fans were also waiting announcement on Huawei Mate 40 series launch but it didn’t happen. The company also not given a single hint on the last flagship Kirin processor.

Aside from official confirmations, tipster Evan Blass has some inputs on this matter and suggest that the Huawei Mate 40 series won’t be available until next year (2021).

According to a previous report, the Huawei Mate 40 series will launch in October in China, and the phone lineup likely to go on sale in the same month for Chinese consumers.

Launched last September, the Huawei Mate 30 series was the first Huawei flagship without Google Mobile Services (GMS) and comes solely on Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). This phone series remained exclusive for China for months and made its entry in the global market by November and seen a wider rollout in December 2019.

Similar to the Huawei Mate 30, Huawei may limit the launch of the Mate 40 series and sell it first in China. Another factor is that the company is prioritizing its Chinese customers compared to the global audience to take advantage of booming Chinese smartphone market share.

Also, it may be related to the shortage of Kirin chip supplies that need to be filled to complete requirements ahead of global sales.

For now, there’s no statement to confimr such launch or global sales delay but we’ll keep you posted on any new development in this story.
