Huawei Mate 70 series and its new Kirin chip could further create problems for Apple in China. The company is ready to unveil its most-awaited models on the consumer platform. But this launch could become a major stress for the US tech giant.

Wall Street Journal (WSJ) has shared a new report saying that the Huawei Mate 70 and Kirin chip advancement will threaten Apple in its second-largest market.

The iPhone maker is already struggling with sales fall in the Chinese market. At this time, Huawei Mate 70 could increase the burden of competition for it.

On the other hand, Huawei is taking new leaps in the semiconductor field despite tougher U.S. trade controls. The company is in rumors to build a 6nm processor for its upcoming Mate smartphones with powerful efficiency and performance.

With these top-end developments, Huawei is undoubtedly seeking ways to counter its foreign rivals in the consumer market and Apple is one of them. The U.S. firm was doing great in China until Huawei began regaining shares (since last year).

Huawei hasn’t officially commented on its rumored Kirin chip so far. The company has given a slight glimpse of its new handsets. But their specs and key features are still under the wrap. The company will announce these traits on November 26.

WSJ Report further notes that Huawei’s slow but constant progress in the chipset field is ‘both a security concern for the U.S. and a commercial challenge for Apple’.

The Chinese OEM is also getting support from the country. The Chinese authorities are instructing firms to prohibit iPhone and Apple products. It is also raising funds for the tech giant to build new stores and invest better in the R&D sector.

Another factor in Huawei’s winning over Apple is AI. While many latest Huawei devices already support smart AI tools, the iPhone maker promised to bring Apple Intelligence next year in China. IDC Vice President – Bryan Ma says:

“The Mate 70 will continue to put more pressure on Apple in China.” Even though Kirin chips still lag behind A-tagged processors in power efficiency, “this might not amount to much of a practical difference as long as the user is able to get through the day without having to worry about charging.”

Eventually, the showdown between Huawei and Apple in the Chinese premium smartphone market after the Mate 70 series launch would be worth seeing!
