Huawei Mate X6 to feature distributed basalt body material
Huawei today announced that the new Mate X6 will adopt the basalt body material. The new-gen architecture will make the foldable lighter as well as thinner. It will also increase the device’s reliability which will ultimately boost its performance.
The tech giant shared a new video teaser for the Mate X6 folding phone. It shows rigid testing of the new foldable with freezing, high temperature, screen impact, stretching (hanging heavy objects), scratch test, and more.
Even though the results of these tests are unknown, Huawei says that the new Mate X6 foldable uses the distributed basalt body material for strong strength.
“What kind of architecture can create Huawei’s new generation of folding flagship? #HuaweiMateX6# Distributed Xuanwu architecture, strong strength, hardcore debut!” – wrote Huawei.

Yu Chengdong – the Huawei Consumer Business Group Chairman further states the company has rebuilt the basalt architecture. It will ensure a leap in heat dissipation, communication, and reliability. As a result, users will get power-pack performance.
Huawei introduced the basalt (Xuanwu) architecture with Mate 60 models last year. It is a combination of a rock-solid body, ultra-durable brocade fiber material, and Kunlun Glass. All these components ensure the device’s protection from external damage.

Mate 60 series was the first to adopt this body framework and obtained a 10-fold improvement in wear-and-tear resistance over the Mate 50 and below models.
Now the company is using an upgraded version of the basalt body coating to make the new foldable more reliable in every way. We may find more details on this subject in the upcoming days, or directly at the November 26 launch event.
