Huawei optimizes FreeLace Pro 2 with July 2024 software update
Huawei has started improving the FreeLace Pro 2 earphones with the July 2024 update. With the latest release, users will get a better calling experience on board. The firmware also optimizes the pop-up alert when linking the device to a phone.
FreeLace Pro 2 is a neckband audio wearable that lands on the ground with several smart features. It supports high-resolution sound quality, an Intelligent ANC 2.0 (Active Noise Cancellation) feature, as well as 25 hours of battery life.
To keep these features reliable, Huawei is now treating FreeLace Pro 2 with a July 2024 update. Users can identify the latest firmware with the HarmonyOS 4.0.0.156 version and a downloadable package of around 2.15 Megabytes.
July 2024 update enhances the FreeLace Pro 2 to a greater extent. It further optimizes the single-ear call effect. Thus, users will hear better audio even when using a single earphone during a call. Another change is in the battery pop-up notification.
Connecting the device with a USB will immediately show a responsive prompt on the phone regarding the earphone battery. This will notify users about the battery status of the device. You can check the details in the changelog given below.
Optimizations:
- Improves the single-ear call effect.
- Optimizes the time when the headphone battery display pops up after the USB is plugged into the phone.
Users can search for the new update in the Huawei AI Life app. Just open the application > select the device > Check for Updates. Though your device should have at least 20% battery to carry out the firmware installation without any interruption.
FreeLace Pro 2 launched in March this year. As per the specs, the new device seems eligible for the HarmonyOS 4.2 upgrade. While devices like FreeBuds Pro 3/2, and FreeBuds 5, received the major version, FreeLace Pro 2 users are still waiting for the offering.
It is unclear if Huawei will release the 4.2 update for more devices in the time ahead. Yet, we suggest installing the current firmware at the earliest to keep your device updated with the latest enhancements.
