Huawei P70 series may bring strongest camera capabilities, reflecting P40’s beauty
Huawei P70 series is likely to debut as a powerful camera beast with the strongest imaging capabilities. In regards to the optical functions, a new leak suggests that the upcoming P-series overcome many camera issues faced by the previous-gen models.
According to Weibo blogger @FixedFocus, the Huawei P70 series will fix the imaging issues the predecessors face and reflect the beauty of the old flagship P40 series. In addition, there would be better changes to the chip processing this time.
Here, ‘camera issues’ reflect traditional CMOS problems. The respective sensor has the limitations of speed, power, and size. However, the tech giant now has in-depth cooperation with other native lens suppliers such as Haowei to fight these obstacles.
As a result, the Huawei P70 series is hearsay to bring larger sensors with an improved imaging configuration. On the other hand, the company is expected to upgrade the XMAGE imaging system with better variable aperture technology for P70 models.
Meanwhile, the Chinese tech maker is boosting the orders of P70 units and calling out more CIS sensors. Everything combined, the Huawei P70 series seems ready with the strongest camera capabilities to recreate the glory of the P40 lineup.
Lens Parameters: All P70 series models said to feature a 50MP main lens at the back with distinct periscope lenses. Some other reports hint that the approaching lineup could adopt the next-gen variable aperture with effective improvements.

The ultimate smartphone lineup launched in 2020 introduced the P40 Pro+ variant as the world’s first 10x optical zoom device. This addition can obtain 10x optical zoom, 20x hybrid zoom, and up to 100x digital zoom shots.
Besides, the series packs a triple-lens setup at the back with a 50MP (f/1.9 aperture) main camera, a 40MP ultra-wide angle shooter, and a 12MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom. It also contains a TOF 3D depth sensor for facial recognition.
Ahead, the front side consists of a 32MP selfie sensor (f/2.2 aperture) with IR TOF 3D depth snapper which also acts as a biometrics sensor.
