Huawei Rotating Chairman suggests HarmonyOS NEXT release later this year
Today, Huawei hosted the Analyst Summit 2024 where the firm’s rotating chairman – Xu Zhijun suggested that the HarmonyOS NEXT stable version will release later this year. Going with the previous leaks, we may find it with the Mate 70 series on the stage.
Xu Zhijun has recently taken over the responsibilities of the company’s Rotating Chairman. During today’s conference, the executive shared his thoughts on new technologies, AI solutions, 5.5G network growth scale, and the HarmonyOS NEXT capabilities.
Huawei’s rotating chairman said that HarmonyOS NEXT will offer a pure and smart native experience. At the same time, it will help the company retain its focus on the smartphone business in China and expand the newest software facilities effectively.
Further inputs reveal that the company will plan the overseas expansion of HarmonyOS NEXT via tablets and wearables, once it gets completely established. At this point, Xu mentioned that Huawei will continue to focus on the addition of the most important native apps in the respective operating system.
HarmonyOS NEXT with Mate 70 Series?
Earlier we reported that Huawei is likely to release the flagship Mate 70 series with pre-install HarmonyOS NEXT in mid-October this year. Even though the company has not confirmed this news, the latest suggestions hint that we are on the right track.
Hence the Chinese tech giant could introduce the stable version of the HarmonyOS NEXT alongside the Mate 70 series in the fourth quarter of this year.
Huawei is currently busy with the beta testing of a new HarmonyOS 4.2 software system which includes a bunch of interesting as well as useful features for smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, smart TVs, earbuds, Wi-Fi routers, and more.
Around 180 devices are eligible to participate in the HarmonyOS 4.2 beta testing and will gradually fetch the upgrade from April to June. You can check the roadmap HERE.
