Huawei survived without dying even after multiple sanctions, says CEO
Huawei has just wrapped the Winter product launch conference where it has unveiled several products including the Nova 12 series. Concluding the event, the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business – Yu Chengdong said that the company has come so far and survived without dying, even after dealing with multiple sanctions.
Over the past decade, Huawei has reshuffled its smartphone business many times to regain its value in the market. Despite numerous restrictions as well as foreign challenges, the company has managed to lead the way for rapid development.
Let’s go through a flashback to understand this matter in detail.
Beginning of U.S. Ban
Back in 2019, Huawei has been a powerful tech vendor in China. With iconic products and unique camera capabilities, the company’s sales revenue was showing good outcomes. However, the tech giant was suddenly hit by the U.S. ban.
Accordingly, the U.S. authorities believed that Huawei’s products act as a threat to the nation’s security and users’ privacy. Though the Chinese firm didn’t agree to any of the allegations, it was restricted from doing business in foreign regions or selling its software and hardware components.
This ban expanded to the processor segment and curbed many suppliers to help Huawei with Kirin’s development. Eventually, these obstacles led to a shocking decline in the company’s smartphone market share.
At the new Winter Product launch event, Yu Chengdong mentioned ‘Our business reached rock bottom last year. Under such difficult circumstances and sanctions, Huawei still survived without dying and made a good comeback’.
Introduction of Mate 60
Well, huge credit for this revival goes to newly launched devices such as the P60 and Mate 60 series. Especially, the Huawei Mate 60 Pro smartphone become the major attention for users as it has the missing Kirin 5G chipset.
Meanwhile, the company continued to add new facilities such as the Pioneer Plan and other services that maintained the attraction point of consumers.
In a recent interview, Huawei Founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei said that the U.S. sanction has been a curse for the company but at the same time, it also appeared as a blessing. Instead of completely depending on U.S. firms, Huawei has learned to be independent and continues to grow.
Up to this point, Huawei has manufactured more than 10000 parts and native components. No doubt, this is just the beginning and the company will constantly take new steps in its growth and development journey.
