AI Benchmark dominated by Kirin chipsets
In the latest AI Benchmark ranking, Huawei has completely dominated the list with 11 of its Kirin powered smartphones. Showing the AI Neural Processing Unit (NPU) power of these chipsets.

Kirin 990 series is built with TSMC’s 7nm+ EUV manufacturing process and integrated with a 5G modem, simultaneously achieving a smaller area. Kirin 990 series made its debut with Huawei Mate 30 series, followed by Honor V30, Huawei P40, Honor 30 series.
In March 2020, Huawei launched 7nm Kirin 820, Huawei’s first mid-range 5G processor equipped in Honor 30S and later used in Nova 7 SE.
In April, Huawei introduced another 7nm chipset – Kirin 985 with Honor 30 and also used in the top models of Huawei Nova 7 series.
