May 2020 security update rolling out for Huawei Mate 20 series on EMUI 10.1 (CN Models)

Recently, Huawei has released a new update for the Huawei Mate 20 series in China, this new update mainly optimizes Multi-Window mode, Wi-Fi, and improves system security with Android patches released in May 2020.

Last month, Huawei sent a stable EMUI 10.1 upgrade to Huawei Mate 20, 20 Pro, 20 X 4G, 20 X 5G, and Mate 20 RS in China. However, the global users of these devices may have to wait until July to get the EMUI 10.1 installed on their devices.

Also, the optimizations that come with this new update for Huawei Mate 20 series are the same as Huawei P30 series.

Multi-Window:  Adds Multi-Window support for more third-party apps.

Network: Optimize the stability of WLAN connection in some situations and improves Internet connectivity.

Contacts: Updates the Huawei customer service hotline to 950800.

System: Optimizes system stability.

Security: Integrates Android security patches released in May 2020 for improved system security.

MAY SECURITY DETAILS:

The May 2020 security update brings Android patches from Huawei and Google, fixing different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 2 critical and 22 high and 2 Medium levels of CVEs.

This new update for Huawei Mate 20 series in China comes EMUI 10.1.0.160. The required versions listed below.

  • Users of Huawei Mate 20 X 4G requires EMUI 10.1.0.155
  • Huawei Mate 20, 20 Pro, 20 X 4G requires EMUI 10.1.0.135
  • Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design requires EMUI 10.1.0.135
