New HarmonyOS NEXT public beta brings Air Shooting theme

A new HarmonyOS NEXT public beta is here which brings several useful improvements and a new Air Shooting theme. The update also contains optimizations for fingerprint unlocking, the device’s system, as well as file-sharing operations.

Huawei recently released a set of new AI features with Mate 70 and Mate X6. Now the company is gradually bringing these capabilities to other eligible models.

Air Shooting theme is an interactive gameplay that makes your leisure time fun. In a few steps, you can enjoy playing basketball on your phone, but in a unique way.

Just double-click the lock screen and the court will automatically light up. Now you can shoot and score excellent points. The company introduced the feature with Mate X6 foldable and now bringing it to more eligible flagship smartphones and tablets.

Apart from the Air Shooting theme, the latest HarmonyOS NEXT public beta update build accompanies some changes to the Gallery app and optimizations for every part of the device’s system for better stability.

The new HarmonyOS NEXT public beta update is tagged with the 5.0.0.112 version. It carries a software package of 1.64GB. You can check the full changelog below.

Theme

• Added Air Shooting theme.
• The theme gallery has added a new click preview feature. Click any theme to open the theme details page and preview the application effect. (Path: Pinch or long-press the home screen > Theme)

Huawei Share

• Support quick sharing of files in file management.

Gallery

• New themed highlights for scenic spots, parks, schools, etc. Turn on the switch to record geographic location information when shooting with the camera, and you can generate highlights after the screen is turned off and changed for some time.
• Gallery editing supports the “Save As” operation.
• Optimize the experience of using the gallery in video editing picture preview and other scenarios.

Fingerprint unlocking

• Optimize fingerprint unlocking performance and improve fingerprint unlocking sensitivity.

System

• Dark mode now supports the scheduled (timed activation) option. When the scheduled start time comes, the system will automatically switch to dark mode after the screen turns on again.
• Optimize the visual design effect of the battery card of negative one-screen devices.
• Optimize signal stability and increase internet speed in some scenarios.
• Optimize Bluetooth connection stability.
• Optimize the user experience of navigation scenarios.
• Optimize the home screen icons and some interface display effects.
