Separation from Huawei makes way for Honor to get Google Mobile Services (GMS)
Today, Huawei has officially confirmed that it has fixed a deal to sell Honor to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co. Ltd. This deal will allow Honor to operate as a separate smartphone company and sell its smartphones under the flagship range.
But there’s a much more interesting topic that you may wanna hear.
Back in May 2019, Huawei was added to the U.S. Entity List, which prohibits the company from purchasing U.S. technologies. Following this announcement, Google also stopped certifying new Huawei and Honor smartphones with Google Play certificates and new phones from the Chinese smartphone maker didn’t get pre-installed Google Mobile applications.
Following this deal, the chances for Honor to acquire a partnership with Google and getting Google Mobile Services (GMS) are also increased. Possibly, its new phones may join the league of GMS-enabled devices once the partition is finalized.
Currently, Honor may be making its future strategies and may soon proceed further on the blueprint it decided to move after the separation from Huawei as it now can expand its operation even further in the global markets.
